Bristol City defender ‘massively disappointed’ with how their season has played out

Bristol City left back Joe Bryan has said his side are frustrated with the way The Robins’ season has fizzled out.

The Robins are four points off the Playoff places with three games to go and Bryan wants maximum points from their remaining games.

Speaking to BBC Radio Bristol he said ” There are nine points to play for and we want all nine points,”

“All of us are frustrated. We haven’t reached the heights we wanted to.”

Bryan’s side face Hull City, Nottingham Forest, and Sheffield United in their final games, and it could be a crucial clash on the final day at Ashton Gate, as only one point separates the two sides in the table.

Bryan scored the opener against Manchester United in the quarter final of the Carabao Cup. It was a fantastic cup run for the Robins which saw them eventually eliminated by Manchester City in the semi-finals. City found themselves in second place on Boxing Day, but after a run of just four wins in nineteen games, The Robins found themselves slipping down the table.

It’s been a stark contrast to last season where they finished in seventeenth, but Bryan is still disappointed with how their season is ending.

“When you look back at it, we’re massively disappointed compared to where we were, but it’s a long season and we’re still a young group, so there’s time to develop.”

Bryan won the PFA PFA Player in the Community Award at Sunday’s EFL awards. He helped fund the treatment of a local non-league player, Chris Corner, who suffered a broken leg. As well as this, the defenders work with the Bristol City Community Trust and as an ambassador for the Children’s Hospice South West was also recognised.
