An updated five potential candidates for the Scunthorpe United job next season

Scunthorpe United are in the hunt for a new manager for next season. They currently have Nick Daws in caretaker charge until the end of this campaign. Here is an outdated five potential candidates-

Grant McCann, 1/1 on Sky Bet– He was sacked by Peterborough United recently and is the favorite for the Scunthorpe United role. He played for the Iron as a player and knows the club well. He could be set for a return to Glanford Park as manager in the summer.

Steve Cotterill, 7/2- The former Portsmouth, Nottingham Forest, Bristol City and most recently Birmingham City manager is in the running for the Iron job. He won the League One title with Bristol City in 2015 and knows the division well.

Nick Daws, 5/1- His is in caretaker charge until the end of the season and has Andy Dawson as his assistant. If they can get Scunthorpe promoted to the Championship, then they will certainly be in with a shout for the permanent position.

Steve McClaren, 8/1- The former Middlesbrough, England, FC Twente, Wolfsburg, Derby County and Middlesbrough boss is an outsider for the role. It is questionable whether he would drop into League One. He has recently been linked with Ipswich Town.

Uwe Rosler, 14/1- The German boss was sacked by Fleetwood in March but deserves another chance in the game. He got them to the Play-Offs last season and would be a good option for the Iron.
