Five players Sheffield United could lose for free in the summer

Sheffield United have had an impressive season under Chris Wilder on their return to the Championship. Here are five players they could lose for free in the summer-

Clayton Donaldson- The experienced striker joined the Blades in August from Birmingham City but only signed a one-year deal. His contract is up in June and the 34-year-old could leave Bramall Lane. He has scored 5 goals this season.

Jake Wright- Chris Wilder brought Wright to Sheffield United from his former club Oxford United in 2016. He helped them win the League One title last season but has now fallen down the pecking order. He looks set to leave at the expiry of his contract in June.

George Long- The 24-year-old goalkeeper has spent this season on loan at League One side AFC Wimbledon and with his contract at Sheffield United expiring at the end of the season, it appears likely that he will be allowed to leave on a free transfer.

Chris Hussey- The left-back has fallen out-of-favour at Bramall Lane and has been on loan at League Two side Swindon Town for this season. His Blades career looks over with it unlikely that he will be offered a new deal.

Louis Reed- The young midfielder’s contract is expiring but he is one who the Blades should try and keep. He is on loan at Chesterfield currently.
