Five players Cardiff City could lose for free in the summer

Cardiff City are flying in the Championship under Neil Warnock and are looking set for an automatic promotion to the Premier League. Here are five of their players who they could lose for free in the summer-

Junior Hoilett- The Canadian international joined the Bluebirds in 2106 on a free transfer following his release by QPR. He has turned out to be a great signing by them but they could lose him in the summer with his contract expiring in June. Cardiff fans will be hoping they can tie him down on a new deal.

Aron Gunnarsson- He is expected to be at the World Cup with Iceland in the summer and it is unlikely that he will sign a new contract with Cardiff. He has played for them since 2011 and has played over 250 games for them but it has been rumoured that he will leave at the end of the season.

Kadeem Harris- The winger has struggled to break into the first-team at Cardiff and could be set to leave the club in June with a new contract unlikely.

Frederic Gounongbe- The 29-year-old striker has fallen way down the pecking order at Cardiff and is expected to leave when his contract expires. He joined the Bluebirds in 2016 from Belgian side Westerlo but has struggled to get into the team during his time in Wales.

Greg Halford- The 33-year-old’s future at Cardiff is in doubt with it being up in the air whether he will be offered a new deal or not. He has played 33 games since joining them from Rotherham United.
