PREVIEW: Robins looking to swoop in on top six

Bristol City will be looking to fly straight into the top six as they travel to Ipswich Town tomorrow.

Ipswich are comfortably sat in mid-table in 12th position in the Sky Bet Championship. Nine points outside the top six may perhaps be too of a gap to close before May for the Tractor Boys.

The Robins are sat in 8th position, three points behind Middlesbrough who occupy the final play-off position.

Ipswich are going through an inconsistent patch of form at the moment, with one win, one draw and one loss coming in their last three games.  A win against Sheffield Wednesday, a draw against Sheffield United was followed by a disappointing home loss to Hull City.

Markus Henriksen, Harry Wilson and Jarrod Bowen did the damage on the night with the Tigers walking away from Suffolk with a 3-0 win.

Bristol City appear to be on a similar run, having won four points from their last three games. A thumping 4-0 win against Sheffield Wednesday was followed up with a 2-1 defeat to fellow promotion chasers Preston North End.

A goaless draw with Burton Albion on Saturday saw the Robins lose more ground in their quest for play-off football.

The Robins will be looking to complete a league double over their opponents after collecting all the points when they visited Portman Road in September.

Jordan Brownhill scored within two minutes to set the tone of the game before Famara Diedhou added a second. Martyn Waghorn halved the lead going into the break but could not prevent Bristol City scoring a third to ensure the points.

Bobby Reid scored late on to keep the Robin’s unbeaten run going.
