Six transfers that’d boost Leeds United hopes next season

With each loss ticking another game match off the schedule, Leeds United are slipping further and further away from a play-off place. It’s been a horrendous start to 2018 for the Whites.

Being dumped out of the FA Cup at the first time of asking by Newport County, despite having hammered them at Elland Road in the Carabao Cup, was what started the rot. From cup loss and exit to league losses and dropped places, that is Leeds United’s lot up to press as we near mid February.

The league losses have followed what is becoming an all too familiar pattern of errors of judgement being followed by varying degrees of capitulation and implosion. Recently that has gotten bad enough to see the Whites fall to two consecutive Elland Road defeats with opponents scoring four goals apiece.

Add to that crumbling discipline and four red cards in five early 2018 games and it’s easy enough to see just why Thomas Christiansen got the boot as results fell away and a very real play-off chance wilted and fell by the roadside.

This Leeds United side isn’t the finished product, by no means is it even close to that. It is widely spoken amongst Leeds United fans that the two months of the summer transfer window should be spent shaping the side to the beat of Paul Heckingbottom’s drum.

With that in mind, the following pages contain six players who could more than come in and boost Leeds United’s chances next season. Up first, a couple of frontmen who could do a job at Elland Road.
