Hull City suffer blow in attempt to sign Newcastle United winger

Hull City’s chances of landing Newcastle United winger Rolando Aarons have been complicated by overseas interest in him, according to the Hull Daily Mail journalist Phil Buckingham.

The Tigers were hopeful of signing the 22 year-old winger but face tough competition from abroad for him. Italian Serie A side Verona are one club being linked.

It would be a huge blow to Hull if they lose out on Aarons. They are in desperate need of a couple of signings and could do with another winger to bolster their attacking options.

Hull are currently outside the bottom three of the Championship on goal difference and have won 1 game in 16 matches. They are on really poor form and need a signing or two to lift their squad. They have until 11pm tonight to get any deals over the line.

The Tigers have been linked with a move for Barnsley captain Angus MacDonald and that is a deal that could go through today. However, it is a race against time.

They may have to look elsewhere for a winger though with a move for Aarons becoming complicated. You would imagine that he would prefer a move to a European side over a Championship one.

Aarons has fallen down the pecking order at Premier League side Newcastle United this season and their manager Rafa Benitez wants him to go out on loan to gain some first-team experience. He would be a decent signing for Hull but a move is becoming increasingly unlikely.
