Aston Villa midfielder seals move to Scottish Premier League

Aston Villa midfielder Aaron Tshibola is set to join Kilmarnock on loan after the two clubs agreed a deal last night, according to the Daily Record.

The young midfielder is set to reunite with Kilmarnock manager Steve Clarke, who managed him at Reading and was the assistant manager of Aston Villa under Roberto de Matteo when Tshibola moved to Villa Park.

The 23 year-old has spent the first half of this season on loan at League One side MK Dons. He has fallen out of favour at Aston Villa and Steve Bruce is keen to offload him so he gets more game time.

Aston Villa forked out £5 million to bring Tshibola to Villa Park from Reading after they were relegated from the Premier League in 2016. However, a move has not worked out as of yet and he only played 8 games for them in the Championship and was shipped out on loan to Nottingham Forest for the remainder of last season.

Tshibola needs to be playing regular first-team football at his age and moving to Kilmarnock is a good opportunity to get his career back on track and get playing more games. He will be a decent signing for the Scottish Premier League side and one that they will look forward to see play for them.

He started his career at Reading and went onto play 17 games for the Royals before his move to Aston Villa. Kilmarnock boss Steve Clarke knows Tshibola well and knows how to get the best out of him.
