Brentford striker set for shock big-money move to China

Brentford striker Lasse Vibe is in talks with Chinese side Yanbian FC over a move, according to West London Sport.

The 30 year-old was left out of Brentford’s game against Norwich City on Saturday which suggests a move to China is on the cards. Brentford’s manager Dean Smith also confirmed that he was in talks with another club.

Vibe has been a hit at Griffin Park since moving from Swedish side IFK Goteborg in 2015. He has scored 7 goals this season for the Bees which takes his overall total number of goals to 37 in his three seasons at the club.

Yanbian FC are the side in talks to lure him away from Brentford. They currently play in the China League One, which is the second division, after being relegated from the Chinese Super League last season. They are hoping to gain an immediate promotion back to the top flight.

They will therefore be hoping that Vibe can carry on his goal scoring form for them in China. The Denmark international has scored goals wherever he has played and there is no reason why not he can’t be a hit in China. He has scored 133 career goals to date and had spells at FC Vestsjælland, SønderjyskE and IFK Goteborg before signing for Brentford.

The Bees will miss Vibe if he completes his deal to Yanbian. Nevertheless, they will be hoping that Ollie Watkins, Romaine Sawyers and Neal Maupay can fill his boots or otherwise they will be in the hunt for a replacement before the transfer window slams shut.
