Norwich City sign Tottenham Hotspur starlet on loan

Norwich City have signed Tottenham Hotspur’s Marcus Edwards on loan until the end of the season as confirmed by the club website.

While Edwards isn’t well known to many fans yet, he is seen by many in the know as one of the best young players in the country. He has made it through several levels of the England youth system and has got five caps for the England U20s, also netting two girls in those games. He has come through the noted Tottenham academy and made his debut for the first team in a 5-0 EFL Cup win over Gillingham this season.

But Edwards is unlikely to make any more appearances for the Tottenham first team as they look to seal a Champions League place so needed a loan to get more first team football. And so he has signed for Norwich for the rest of the season where he hopes to show why he is so highly regarded by helping them get a Sky Bet Championship play-off spot.

After signing for Norwich, Edwards said: “I’m really excited and can’t wait to help the team.”

“I like to get on the ball, take people on, create things and score goals. When I spoke to the manager, he made me feel welcome and explained how he wanted to play.”

His new head coach Daniel Farke said: “Marcus is a young player with huge potential.

“He is rated as one of the biggest talents in English football but will need some time to adapt to a new surrounding and to the physical game in the Championship.”

“Again, it’s a sign of our way to work with young and talented players.”
