Leeds United: Juventus striker in “the sights” of Whites

According to Italian source TUTTOmercatoweb (TMW), Leeds United have asked Italian giants Juventus about the loan availabity of young forward Moise Kean.

TMW say that there are “British sirens” sounding for the youngster who is currently on loan at Hellas Verona from Juventus, who are known as La Vecchia Signora in Italian football.

Vercelli-born 17-year-old Kean is an Italian international at age levels ranging from Under-15 to Under-19, where he made his début at the start of September 2017. Across all these age groups, young starlet Kean has featured 28 times for his country, netting 13 goals.

Whilst on loan at Verona, the youngster has proven that he isn’t too weak to mix it with the big boys in Serie A, playing in 15 games this season and scoring twice: once in a 2-2 draw against Torino and once in an impressive 3-0 Verona win over Italian giants AC Milan.

His first Serie A goal came three months after he’d turned 17, scoring for Juve in a 2-1 win over Bologna in the last game of last season’s Serie A competition. Goals are definitely something that Moise Kean has in him, his record for Juventus showing that up perfectly.

Aside from the once goal in four appearances for Juventus’ first team, Kean has scored regularly throughout his time in Turin. In 20 Primavera youth games, he netted 12 times, improving this strike rate when he progressed to the Under-17. At this level he was quite prolific, scoring 29 goals in just 36 appearances – including 19 in the 2015/16 season.

Whilst alarm sirens may be sounding, and whilst Kean may, according to TMW, be “in the sights of Leeds“, they urge a sense of caution saying that “it seems that this track is not destined to materialise.”
