Middlesbrough, Preston and Millwall looking to sign Wolves defender on loan

According to website Football Insider, Kortney Hause has been linked with a loan move away from Wolves. Middlesbrough, Preston North End and Millwall are all vying for the defender’s signature.

Able to play in central defence or at right-back, the versatile defender has found himself out of the picture at Wolves, with the club 12 points clear at the top of the Championship.

But the league leaders are keen to keep the England under-21 international at the club. They see him having a long-term career at Molineux and want to loan him out until the end of the season instead of allowing him to leave on a permanent deal. Hause is set to sign a new contract before being loaned out to a rival Championship side.

Wolves boss Nuno Espírito Santo currently has six central defenders at his disposal, and Hause has found his playing time restricted as a result. He has started just two games in all competitions, once in the FA Cup and once in the Carabao Cup. However, he did keep a clean sheet in both fixtures, against Premier League opposition in Manchester City and Swansea City respectively.

Middlesbrough, Preston and Millwall are all keen to take the 22-year-old on loan, as they look to bolster their defensive options.

All three clubs could make a push for promotion, with Middlesbrough and Preston in 8th and 9th. Although Millwall sit in 15th, they are only 13th points off the play off positions, and a run of form could see them challenge.

Hause will be hoping to get a deal over the line before the 31st January deadline to get some well-needed game time.
