Leeds United fans react to FA Cup loss against Newport County

The FA Cup never fails to surprise and today it saw League 2 Newport County knock out Championship side Leeds United.

Leeds united took the lead early in the first half of the FA Cup clash and apart from the odd chance after, they never looked like scoring a second. Newport did have their chances across the game but were not threatening until Shaughnessy’s own goal in the 76th minute. After that, it was obvious that the momentum was with Newport and they threatened Leeds who eventually crumbled when McCoulsky headed home in the 89th minute.

The travelling fans will be disappointed after their early morning start, as always Leeds took to twitter to voice their anger.

Phil Hay always seems to have it spot on with anything Leeds United.

You don’t need a lot of words to sum up that game.

Great thinking Leeds…

Jay Roy Grot still fails to impress the Leeds United faithful.

One positive from this game is the Berardi goal, shame it now means nothing…

Did Christiansen rest too many though?

I take it Christiansen didn’t get the memo about the cup of upsets?

A GIF always works well with Leeds.

Now that United are out of the FA cup, their attention will now turn their attention to the league and hope to climb the table before the curtains fall later this year in may.

This is definitely a moment to forget for Leeds but I’m sure Newport fans will not forget about this one for a long time. Credit to County for showing their determination after the equaliser to push forward and get the winning goal late on.
