FA Cup Preview: Forest take on the holders

Nottingham Forest take on FA Cup holders Arsenal this weekend as they meet in the competition.

Nottingham Forest are sat in 14th in the SkyBet Championship and have recently sacked manager Mark Warburton after just nine months in charge.

The Reds are in poor form having only picked up a single point from their last three games. Back to back defeats at the City Ground against Sheffield Wednesday and Sunderland.

However, managerless Forest were able to earn a respectable point at Elland Road as they pegged back Leeds United.

Striker Daryl Murphy missed the first game of 2018 with a knock that he sustained against former side Sunderland.

Arsenal find themselves in 6th place in the Premier League. The Gunners are unbeaten in their last three games having won once and drawn twice.

A point against champions Chelsea at the Emirates saw Arsenal claw back after scoring an injury time equaliser.

Jack Wilshere put the hosts in front but a contentious penalty decision against Arsenal for a foul commited by Hector Bellerin on Eden Hazard gave the visitors to level from the spot.

The Belgian stepped up and slotted past Petr Cech. The comeback was complete when Marcos Alonso struck a second.

Spanish full-back Bellerin was able to claim a point for the Gunners with a 92nd minute goal to level the scores.

Manager Arsne Wenger will start his touchline ban after his behaviour against West Brom in the Premier League. Graint Xhaka, Nacho Monreal, Oliver Giroud, Aaron Ramsey and Sead Kolasinac are all doubts for the tie.

These two sides crossed paths last season. Arsenal visited the City Ground in the EFL Trophy and went back to North London in the hat for the next round.

Granit Xhaka scored from almost 30 yards which was followed by Lucas Perez’s first goals in an Arsenal shirt, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain added a fourth in injury time to seal the victory.
