Players who Nigel Adkins should try and sign for Hull City

New Hull City boss Nigel Adkins has indicated that he will be targeting moves for a centre-back, winger and a striker.

The Tigers are in desperate need for some new signings this January. They have struggled so far this season and are only out of the bottom three on goal difference.

Here are some targets that Nigel Adkins should try and sign-

Centre-backs- I think Hull should go for Steven Caulker, who has recently been released by QPR. The former Tottenham Hotspur, Swansea City and Cardiff City man needs a new permanent home and Hull would be ideal for him. Another defender they could target is Brentford’s John Egan. Hull need to solve their defensive woes and Egan would bolster their back-like. However, he could prove hard to get.

Wingers- Nigel Adkins has worked with Gareth McCleary before at Reading and I think he should team up with him again. He is an experienced Championship winger and would help Hull in their relegation battle. Another target could be Josh Windass from Rangers. They would sell him at the right price and he would give them another attacking option.

Attack- There are two strikers who Adkins should be targeting and they are both from League One. The first should be Jack Marriott from Peterborough, who was actually born in Beverley which is near Hull, and he has already scored 17 goals so far this season. The other is Bradford striker Charlie Wyke. He is a big and strong striker and has bagged 11 goals this season. Hull need a tall striker up there with Nouha Dicko and Fraizer Campbell (and Abel Hernandez when he’s back) and Wyke would be perfect in my opinion.
