Non League starlet wanted by Championship duo

Non League winger Dylan Randall is set to train with English Football League Championship side Derby County.

Randall is currently plying his trade with Hampton & Richmond Borough in the Vanarama National League South – four divisions below the Rams – but he caught the Championship side’s Chief Scout’s attention by breaking into the record books at The Beveree.

The youngster turns 17 later this month but has already played as part of a trial game for Stevenage Borough and been invited to train with Derby County’s Championship rivals Ipswich Town.

In November he broke the Club’s 43-year record by becoming the Club’s youngest ever player by coming off the bench during a 5-1 win over Harlow Town in the Buildbase FA Trophy and since his first appearance he has become a firm fan favourite.

Ranall then increased his attention by coming off the bench – again in the FA Trophy – as he scored a 92nd minute to take Heybridge Swifts to a replay. Since scoring in the Trophy, the winger has made a full appearance for the Beavers in the National League South.

Derby County Chief Scout Malcolm Crosby watched the youngster come on in the 89th minute in a 0-0 League draw against Oxford City, however the Rams are trusting the Hampton & Richmond Borough coaching staff’s recommendation.

Beavers’ boss Alan Dowson drove the winger to Derby on Tuesday, however the youngster remains eligible for the non-league side’s game against Hemel Hempstead this weekend.

The Non League side have previous for highlighting talent as winger Jamal Lowe left the Beavers in October 2016 to sign for Portsmouth, the 22-year-old impressed thoroughly during his time at Fratton Park and played a part in their succesful push for promotion to Sky Bet League One.
