Blackburn Rovers and Charlton Athletic to offer trial to Indian international

Sky Bet League One duo Blackburn Rovers and Charlton Athletic are believed to be ready to offer a trial to Indian international keeper Dheeraj Singh.

The 17-year-old Manipur born stopper currently plays his football in the Indian I-League for the Indian Arrows and the youngster is tipped for a bright future.

Singh is thought to be keen to earn himself a move to a European club in a bid to succeed in his career and the Daily Record have reported that the player will undergo a trial with Scottish Premiership club Motherwell. It is also thought that the keeper will have trials with both Blackburn Rovers and Charlton Athletic following his spell at Fir Park as he looks for a future employer.

The youngster is a product of the AIFF Elite Academy, one of the most well-known football academies in India. The player has gone on to make a handful of first team appearances for current club the Indian Arrows while Singh has represented his country up to under-20 level.

The Indian Arrows is a club designed to help players under the age of 20 carve out a career in the game and with Singh now in his late teens, the youngster is required to consider his career path and that is not expected to include the prospect of remaining in the Indian game.
