Sheffield Wednesday’s hopes of a more prosperous 2018 have taken a bitter blow with The Owls falling to a truly embarrassing 3-0 Sky Bet Championship defeat to struggling Burton Albion at Hillsborough.
Brewers frontman Lucas Akins saw an early penalty kick saved before Tom Flanagan, Lloyd Dyer and Tom Naylor all found the back of the net on a shameful afternoon for the home side.
The latest defeat for the managerless Owls sees the club slide closer to the relegation zone and after the match, many disgruntled fans took to Twitter to give their views on their side’s latest setback.

Heading towards a relegation battle and these players haven’t got the fight for it.

Dreadful @swfc. Massive disappointment today. New manager required quickly, or we're in genuine relegation trouble

Wouldn’t be surprised if @swfc season ends in relegation now. So many injuries, players out of form and disinterested, no manager and now a CEO with a history of antagonising fans. Staggering from calamity to calamity.

Bullen has really 1 job – motivate the players to give 100% He can’t do that. He can’t coach. His tactics are pathetic. They really need to appoint someone, anyone, who knows what the hell they are doing #swfc

#swfc Overpaid sulking set of players not fit to wear the shirt. Also all those hiding behind minor knocks (if it was the cup final would make a miracle recovery). As for the players waiting for a transfer just go.
Relegation battle it is then— Jason R Bennett (@JaseRBennett) January 1, 2018
Absolutely useless. No pride no passion not fit to wear the shirt. Overpaid useless unfit money pinching players. All the players care about is their pay packet. You could have got 11 fans out of the stand with more pride and passion than them #swfc
