Bradford want Lincoln’s FA Cup hero on loan

Bradford City are interested in taking Norwich City centre back Sean Raggett on loan for the second half of the season, according to reports.

The defender is currently on loan with the Imps after he joined Norwich for an undisclosed fee back in August.

That loan expires after Lincoln’s game with table-topping Luton Town on New Year’s Day.

Speaking in his press conference ahead of their SkyBet League Two clash with Forest Green Rovers, Danny Cowley admitted he’d love to keep the centre-half but expects fierce competition for his signature:

“We wish him well and with this potentially being his last home game I’m sure everybody will get right behind him and give him a really good send off.

“Let’s try to influence him as much as we can because if he has any part to play I’m sure he’ll want to come back.

“I know how much he loves the club and the support and is thankful for the opportunities he’s had and obviously we’re thankful for what he’s done.”

When he returns to Norwich, the Canaries have three current options. They can keep him and decide to play him in their Championship campaign, they can loan him to a team in a higher division such as SkyBet League One, or they can return him to Lincoln City for the remainder of the season.

This is where Bradford come in. Half of a season in League One with a promotion-chasing side would help the development of Raggett.

However, if he does indeed turn out for the Canaries in January for them to feel he needs more development, the centre-half must return to Lincoln. A footballer can only be registered to play for two teams in a footballing season.
