The average away attendances for every Championship club- Where does your team rank?

The Championship is one of the most competitive leagues in the world and every week fans flock to games across the country to watch their teams in action. Here are the average away attendances for every club so far this season, with data from Football Away Days-

  1. Leeds United, 3,154- The Whites fans are turning up in large numbers for their away games this year.
  2. Sheffield Wednesday, 2,998- The Owls are still taking a good number of away fans despite a poor start to the season.
  3. Aston Villa, 2,995- Villa are in their second consecutive season in this division.
  4. Middlesbrough, 2,449- They are back in the Championship but their fans still back them.
  5. Wolves, 2,311- They are currently top of the league.
  6. Sheffield United, 2,080- The Blades have made a decent start to this season after winning the League One title.
  7. Sunderland, 2,032- The team have been poor but the fans have been faultless away.
  8. Nottingham Forest, 1,960- Good support from Forest this season.
  9. Birmingham City, 1,676- The fans continue to go despite the team’s poor performances.
  10. Derby County, 1,530- The team has been playing well this campaign.
  11. Norwich City, 1,488- Decent support from the Canaries faithful.
  12. Bristol City, 1,418- The Robins have been great so far this season.
  13. Cardiff City, 1,414- The Bluebirds are going for promotion and their fans travel from Wales to away games in strong numbers.
  14. Millwall, 1,390- They are back in the Championship.
  15. Fulham, 1,275- Usually backed by a decent following.
  16. Barnsley, 1,244- Some dressed as penguins to their last away game.
  17. Ipswich Town, 1,178- Another season in the Championship for them.
  18. Hull City, 1,090- A shame for a club who have been backed by huge numbers in the past but many have been alienated/refuse to go until the owners leave.
  19. Preston- 1,070- The team has made a great start.
  20. Bolton, 1,029- It has been a tough start for them.
  21. Reading, 890- They got to the Play-Off final last season.
  22. Brentford, 876- They play some great football.
  23. QPR, 685- Pretty poor from them but the team has not been great.
  24. Burton, 480- The smallest fan base in the league but the team holds their own.
