3 free agents that Championship clubs should sign in January

There are many footballers who are without a club at the moment and would be decent signings for clubs in Championship. Here are three players that should be signed in January-

David Cotterill- The Wales international is currently without a club after being released by Birmingham City last week. He left the club by mutual consent after being told he was not part of Steve Cotterill’s plans. However, he is a vastly experienced winger in the Championship and would be a great signing for another club. The former Sheffield United and Swansea City spent the latter part of last season on loan at Bristol City and will still be sharp. He will no doubt be in demand.

Steven Caulker- The England international defender has recently left QPR. He is available on a free transfer and on his day he is a very talented centre-back. Formerly of Tottenham Hotspur, Swansea City, Cardiff City, QPR and Liverpool, he has played for some big clubs and has a lot of experience. His wages will be high but he would be a great signing for someone.

Matty Fryatt- The 31 year-old still finds himself without a club but if fit he can score goals at this level and has proved this in the past. He has scored 134 goals in his career and has played for the likes of Leicester, Hull City, Nottingham Forest and Sheffield Wednesday. He would be a good signing for a team battling relegation in the Championship like Burton Albion or Bolton Wanderers.
