Liverpool could allow Villa target to leave Anfield on loan

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp could opt to make reported Aston Villa transfer target Marko Grujic available for loan during the second half of the season according to the Birmingham Mail.

The 21-year-old Belgrade born midfielder has made just six appearances for Liverpool this season with just half of those outings coming in English Premier League matches when he has been used from the bench.

With Grujic currently short of regular first team football, The Reds boss Klopp is thought to be considering sending the player out on loan in a bid to build his experience. Sky Bet Championship club Aston Villa are believed to be keen on signing the midfielder on a temporary basis with manager Steve Bruce having to operate with signing free agents or loanees in the upcoming transfer window as the club look to remain within Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations.

Serbian international Grujic started his career in his homeland with Red Star Belgrade before joining current club Liverpool almost two years ago in a reported £5.1 million deal. The midfielder has made 14 appearances in all competitions for The Reds but the player is yet to open his goalscoring account.

Aston Villa have fallen out of the Sky Bet Championship play-off places after a five-match unbeaten run and some new faces could lift the mood around Villa Park as the club aim to win back their English Premier League status.
