Crewe Alexandra take on Swindon Town this weekend, looking to extend the gap between themselves and the bottom two.
Crewe currently sit in 19th place, just three points and four places from the relegation places. Whereas visitors Swindon currently sit in 12th however a win could see them make up ground in the race for the play-offs.
The Alex come into the game in rather disappointing form having won just three points from the last nine available. However, the Railwaymen will take confidence from their FA Cup clashes with League One promotion hopefuls Blackburn, having taken the former Premier League champions to a replay.
Crewe were able to pick up three points last time out, dispatching fellow strugglers Crawley Town 3-0 at Gresty Road. A brace from skipper Chris Dagnall added to by Callum Ainley wrapped up a comfortable victory.
This weekend’s fixture could come too early for injured trio James Jones, Ryan Wintle and George Ray who are all close to returning from recent knocks.
Despite their position in the table, Swindon head into the clash having picked up no points in their last three games.
David Flitcroft’s men have been beaten by Grimsby Town, Newport County and Colchester United which has put their play-off surge to a resounding halt.
Their latest defeat coming against fellow promotion seekers Colechester United. In an entertaining affair, goals from Kaiyne Woolery and Kellan Gordon were not enough to secure any points under the lights.
