Leeds United on loan Bouy not a marker – views from Spain

Leeds United brought a number of new players to the club during the summer; some were for the first team, others for the Under-23 Development Squad.

One player who was destined for neither squad was Dutch-born Morroccan midfielder Ouasim Bouy. Instead he was instantly loaned out to Cultural Leonesa who play in Spain’s La Liga 2 competition. However, as BBC Radio Leeds’ Adam Pope mentioned yesterday (tweet – below), Leeds United are said not happy with the way Bouy has been handled in Spain.

Bouy has only made four appearances during his time in Spain’- two appearances each in La Liga 2 and the Copa del Rey. This is something that has obviously not settled well with United’s hierarchy – as Adam Pope’s tweet shows.

However, reports from Spain might clarify this situation somewhat and add an extra sprinkling of salsa along the way about the saga. Online source Reyournal say that Bouy is “more out than in” at Cultural, and that it isn’t the fault of the club per se.

Reyournal’s Sergio Nicolas says that Bouy “could be the first player to leave in the winter market,” saying that the Dutch-born Morroccan could be returning to Leeds in January.

The article continues that Cultural Leonesa would like to see him leave, hoping that he won’t be the only player to leave the club. Reyournal say that these movements would be necessary “so that it [Cultural] can have a sufficient salary margin to reinforce the squad.”

Other news coming out of Spain sees that this parting could be something mutually beneficial for both sides – player and club.
