Leeds United fans react and comment on team news vs Brentford

The record books and recent games don’t lie – Leeds United’s performances of late have been weak and ineffectual and the fans will be quick to tell you that; venemously quick in fact.

A scintillating start to the season had seen the Whites rocket to the top of the Sky Bet Championship before a recent slump has seen them drop out of the play-off picture and nestle in their current 7th place in the table.

The latest defeat was against Derby County at Eland Road in midweek, a promising start turning into a Tuesday nightmare. A well-taken Pierre-Michel Lasogga goal was cancelled out by two Derby goals in the second half, one a questionable penalty where contact was so far outside the box you’d need a taxi to the area.

The drop-off of form that the Whites are suffering is plain to see, five defeats in their last six including the Derby reverse. The rot started when Millwall stuck in that first splintered defeat, in doing so laying open a masterplan to beat Leeds.

The bright spot in all the gloom of the last eight-or-so games was against high-flying Bristol City. Leeds United went to Ashton Gate and simply picked apart the Robins and left their feathers ruffled and more red-faced than red-breasted.

It is that form that the Whites need to get back, and this is today’s team that fans will hope can kick-start that rise back to better times.
