FC Groningen striker Mimoun Mahi is valued at around £2 million and could leave the club in January, as per a report by the Bristol Post.
The forward is a reported target of Championship duo Nottingham Forest and Bristol City. They can apparently sign their transfer target for a small fee in January.
The 23 year-old impressed for FC Groningen last season, scoring 17 goals in the Eredivisie. He has started this season well too, scoring twice in the three games he has featured in. He is also a Morocco international, despite being born in Holland and representing them at U18, U19 and U21 level in the past.
Mahi started his career with Sparta Rotterdam and made his debut for them in 2014. He spent two seasons with the Rotterdam club before joining FC Groningen in 2014. He has scored 27 goals in the 76 games he has played for them.
Both Bristol City and Nottingham Forest are being linked with him. The two sides have made decent starts to the Championship season and will be looking to add fresh faces to their squads in January to make them stronger for the rest of the season.
Bristol City are currently 4th in the table and have managed to replace the goals of Tammy Abraham from last season. Their great form has been largely down to the goals from Bobby Reid. Nottingham Forest, on the other hand, are only a point off the Play-Offs after their win at Hull City on Saturday. Not only will these clubs potentially be competing with each other for the Play-Offs, they may also be battling it out for Mimoun Mahi.
