Young starlet David Brooks came off the bench to send Sheffield United to the top of the Championship as he scored the winner for his side late on which sent the Leeds United fans home very disappointed.
The match couldn’t have started much worse for Leeds United. Mark Duffy played a great ball towards the back post which found Billy Sharp. He headed home to make it 1-0 but all this could’ve been avoided had Matthew Pennington not let Sharp get away from him so easily.
Just past the half-hour mark, Samu Saiz put in a cross into the box hoping to find Lassoga. He forced a mistake from the Sheffield United defender, which meant the ball fell to Kalvin Phillips’ feet who smashed an incredible volley into the net from 20 yards to make it 1-1.
On 62 minutes Leeds United goalscorer, Kalvin Phillips, should’ve seen red but somehow got away with just a yellow card and a very long lecture from the referee.
With nine minutes to go, Blades hero David Brookes latched onto Mark Duffy’s through ball and slotted home into the bottom right-hand corner past Andy Lonergan to put the Blades 2-1 and win the big Yorkshire derby. The win sent Sheffield United up to the top of the Championship for the first time in 12 years! But how did the wonderful world of Twitter react to the final score?

Remember last week at the Gate when you ironically sung that you were falling apart again? Well…

The number of defensive clearances that went straight to blades players was crazy. What were the mids doing! O’kane, Viera, Phillips.

If we had someone who put a shift in up front then maybe we’d stand a chance. Something needs to change and change fast
