Leeds United star reveals all on his problems

Leeds United midfielder Ronaldo Vieira has revealed to the Yorkshire Evening Post that his knee problems have been more than a niggle, but instead serious tendonitis.

In his first year as a senior footballer, the youngster was subject to a lot more first team football than he would have originally anticipated getting, making thirty eight appearances in all competitions. His chance for rest was squandered when he was selected for the England squad in the Toulon Tournoi.

“I can play with it but I didn’t go away with England because it was a bit sore. I stayed and did some work on it and it feels alright now. It feels good. Last year I struggled with my knee as well but I played through it. This year it got a little bit worse. Maybe that’s what slowed me down but I’ve kept my head down and kept working and working, trying to get into the team.”

His only real inductions into the first team squad this season have been mainly in the Carabao Cup, the side have done well to make it to the fourth round where tonight they play Leicester City. The managerless Premier League side could be another scalp claimed in the potential run to Wembley for United

The 19 year old made a remarkable return to the squad with Leeds’ 3-0 victory at Bristol City on Saturday, a Samuel Saiz brace helped out and was accompanied by a Pierre Michel Lasogga late header from a Kalvin Phillips corner. This sealed a convincing victory for The Whites as they move up to fourth place in the Sky Bet Championship.
