Championship trio Wolves, Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa are all interested in a January move for Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson, according to the Mirror.
There are said to be up to fourteen clubs interested in the shot-stopper, including Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea. It is believed that Henderson wants to leave Old Trafford permanently to play first-team football so a move to the Championship will suit him.
The 20 year-old goalkeeper is currently on loan at League One side Shrewsbury Town. He has helped Paul Hurst’s side get to the top of the league. Shrewsbury fans will be hoping the rumours linking Henderson with a permanent move away from Manchester United are false.
Henderson, who stands at 6ft 3inc, joined the Manchester United academy aged fourteen. He had previously been at Carlisle United. He has represented England at U16, U17 and U20 level. The Whitehaven born ‘keeper has never made a senior appearance for Manchester United.
His first experience of playing first-team football was with non league Stockport County in 2016. The next season he went to League Two side Grimsby Town for the 2016/17. United boss Jose Mourinho was willing to send Henderson on loan again this season to Shrewsbury Town.
Henderson is a promising goalkeeper and it would be a waste for him to let his career pass him by at Manchester United on the bench or in the development squad. Therefore, a move to either a lower Premier League side or a Championship side would be very beneficial to his career.
