Thomas Christiansen disappointed as losing run continues for Leeds United

Leeds United head coach Thomas Christian has told LUTV, and as reported by the Daily Star, that he was very disappointed after his side slipped to a 1-0 loss against Reading.

The West Yorkshire side were hoping to use the international break to get back to their start of the season form after suffering a 3-0 humiliation at the hand of their rivals Sheffield Wednesday. and with Reading being in poor form this season and their head coach Jaap Stam coming under pressure, many thought it would be a great chance to pick up a win.

However they would end up losing with former Leeds player Modou Barrow scoring the only goal of the game for Reading. Leeds did have an ideal chance to get an equaliser and something out of the match when they got a penalty, but Pablo Hernandez’s effort was saved by Vito Mannone. This means that Leeds have now lost three games in a row but they remain in the Sky Bet Championship play-off places in 6th place.

After the game Christiansen said: “I’m disappointed, we felt we could have bounced back today with a win”,

“It should have been us. We did everything right in the second half.”

“In the first half our build up was too slow, but in the second half we did much better and created more opportunities.”

“I don’t think Reading had another chance apart from when they scored.”

“I believe we deserved at least a point, but we need to work a lot and bring the confidence back, which got us into this position.”

“As a team we have to stand together and fight.”
