Leeds United plot £2m January move for Orlando City star

Leeds United are plotting to make a move to sign Orlando City’s Cyle Larin for £2m in the January transfer window according to a report from The Sun on Sunday via the Daily Star.

While it doesn’t appear that Leeds are missing Chris Wood since his big money move to Burnley towards the end of the transfer window, with the club registering a 5-0 win over Burton Albion to continue their bright start to the season, they are still looking to get a new striker in just in case the goals start to dry up. And while fans have become accustomed to Leeds looking to Europe to get their recent signings, now they are looking outside the continent to get their new star striker.

Leeds are considering making a move worth £2m to sign Larin from Orlando City. The Canadian international has been doing very well in the MLS season, bagging 11 goals in 24 appearances and now the coaches at Leeds think he could do the same if given the chance in the Sky Bet Championship. It could be a tough transition considering the difference in quality between the MLS and the Championship, but he is just 22-years-old meaning he would have plenty of time to adjust.

However Leeds will be facing competition for Larin should they make a move for him. Besiktas are also very interested in signing him and will look to beat the West Yorkshire side to the punch. However for the moment, Larin’s aim will be to help Orlando have a respectable finish to the season.
