Cardiff City handed huge deadline day boost

Following reports of interest from Premier League side Everton, Cardiff City striker Kenneth Zohore has informed the club he wants to stay, according to Wales Online. The Denmark Under-21 international has been in contact with club officials to make it clear he won’t be moving on.

There had been some nerves beginning to spread around the Welsh capital, as is naturally the chase on deadline day when a top flight club is sniffing around your best player. Nevertheless, Zohore is keen to remain a Bluebird and help propel Neil Warnock’s side into the Premier League, to face clubs such as Everton.

The player himself has committed himself for the rest of the season, although anything beyond that is clearly up for debate. Nevertheless, following a strong start to the season, there is real excitement around the club that 23-year-old Zohore can score the goals needed to put Cardiff in contention for a return to the Premier League. Everton are desperately scouring the transfer market to add a striker, but can now cross this particularly player off their list.

Zohore feels a sense of loyalty to the club after giving him a chance in the English game and getting his career back on track after a frustrating spell in Belgian football. Earlier in the transfer window, Sky Bet Championship rivals Hull City tabled a large bid for the powerful front man, which was rejected out of hand, with Warnock adamant that he certainly wouldn’t be leaving to another club at this level.
