Birmingham have announced that they have signed Brentford forward Jota for a club record fee. He joins ex-Bees teammate Harlee Dean at the club.
Alot of club were interested in the Spanish playmaker, but Harry Redknapp has pulled off some Deadline Day magic to secure the signature of Jota. It also looks like The Blues are going to sign former Barcelona player Alex Song.
Jota started his career with Celta Vigo. He joined Brentford in 2014 for an undisclosed fee. In his first season with the Bees he scored eleven goals, but injury hampered his 2015-16 season. The 27-year-old scored twelve goals last season.
Here’s how Birmingham fans reacted to the signing:

Jota will be a great signing for us. A classy playmaker who takes a good set-piece too. Best signing of the lot. #bcfc

Jota will be this decade’s Daniel de Ridder. Loads of hype, loads of expectation, will flop at #bcfc , strop and be loaned back to Spain.

Chuffed with Jota. Ace signing. I’d love to know how much we paid for him. Heard from anywhere from 8-12 total. #JotaAndSorrows #bcfc
