Connor Goldson (Brighton & Hove Albion)
The 24-year-old may not be the most inspiring of signings, but it is about time that the defender got regular game time in order to fulfil his undoubted potential. Heart surgery kept Goldson out of much of Brighton’s promotion-winning campaign last year, but he featured 24 times for Chris Hughton’s men the previous season, as they narrowly missed out on automatic promotion.
Having recovered from his preventative surgery, Goldson could be worth looking at – he was a highly-rated youngster at Shrewsbury Town before Brighton came calling. Whether on a temporary or permanent basis, there are certainly a number of bottom-half Championship sides in need of the defender’s strength and level-headedness at the back.
