Aston Villa have announced that they have signed Scotland international Robert Snodgrass from West Ham on a season-long loan.
The winger started his career in Scotland with Livingston. After five years with Livingston Snodgrass signed for Leeds United. He was part of the Whites side which won promotion from League One. Snodgrass played 193 times for Leeds, and he scored 41 times for the club. He signed for Norwich in 2012, and he scored fourteen goals in two seasons for the Canaries.
In June 2014 he signed for Hull City. The Glasgow born winger spent three years with the Tigers before signing for West Ham in January. Snodgrass played fifteen times for the Hammers last season. He will wear the number 7 shirt for Villa.
Snodgrass said this about his move “I am delighted to join.
“I have had offers from other clubs, but it was an easy decision to come here. You see the name Aston Villa with all its history, tradition, fanbase and it’s a place you want to come to.
“Seeing it in the Championship doesn’t look right.
“I want to be part of that journey back up to the Premier League. I am raring to go.”
Aston Villa travel to Ashton Gate for their game against Bristol City tonight. Villa currently sit in 16th place in the Championship after only winning one of their opening four league games of the season. The Villans only win of the season so far came last Saturday as they ran out 4-2 winners against Norwich City.
