Leeds United first-team winger Dallas wanted by Championship rival side

According to Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Phil Hay on his personal Twitter feed, Leeds United could face a tussle with Norwich City over current first-team winger Stuart Dallas.

Dallas has been at Elland Road since an early August 2015 move from London side Brentford, and is currently part of head coach Thomas Christiansen’s plans for the club going forward. However, according to Hay (tweet – below), this has not stopped Norwich City’s interest.

19-cap Northern Ireland international Dallas has featured in three of Leeds’ four Sky Bet Championship games so far this season, albeit for just 44 minutes of game time. His last appearance, coming on as a second-half substitute against Sunderland saw him net the decisive second goal of the game that gave United a 2-0 win and all three points.

During his two-and-a-bit seasons at Elland Road, Dallas has made 89 appearances for the Whites, scoring nine goals and providing 12 assists. His first full season at the club was his most productive for the Whites, Dallas making 45 appearances from which he scored five goals and provided seven assists.

Last season saw a drop-off of sorts with the left-winger not being used to the same degree by then head coach Garry Monk. Dallas only made 31 appearances in the Sky Bet Championship last time out from which he returned two goals and three assists.

With the closing of the summer transfer window less than a week away, all teams will be jockeying for position as they size up possible additions to their starting line-ups/squads for the last time before January. Whilst Leeds United consider Stuart Dallas an important member of the first-team set-up, the Whites options in that area might be enough to persuade them to cash in on a player who is entering the final year of his contract.
