Robins linked with move for Icelandic keeper

Bristol City manager Lee Johnson is thought to be considering a move for Iceland international goalkeeper Ogmundur Kristinsson according to the Bristol Post.

The 28-year-old Reykjavik born stopper currently plays his football in the Swedish Allsvenskan with Hammarby IF and has one year remaining on his current deal at the Tele2 Arena.

It has now been reported that Sky Bet Championship club Bristol City are looking to sign the player with Hammarby IF potentially looking to offload the keeper for a fee this summer rather than seeing him leave on a free transfer next summer.

Kristinsson started his career in his homeland with Icelandic second tier outfit Fram where he won the Icelandic Cup in 2013.

In a bid to launch his senior career, the player had trails with Norwegian club Sandnes Ulf and Scottish Premiership club Motherwell before joining Danish club Randers. The keeper made just four appearances in all competitions for The Horses and joined current club Hammarby IF in June 2015.

Kristinsson endured a difficult start to his spell in Sweden before breaking into the starting XI mid-way through his first season with the club. The keeper has now cemented his place in the side and after impressing in the Allsvenskan, clubs are thought to be considering making moves for the player.
