Defence
Joe Worrall – Centre Back
At just 20 years old, Worrall is a newcomer to the senior game, after a successful time rising up the academy at Forest.
In 2016 he went on loan to Dagenham and Redbridge, where he gained valuable experience of playing regular first team football, and returned to Forest with much more experience than he had prior to the loan.
Similarly to Jordan Smith, last season was a real breakout season for the youngster at Forest, where he made 21 league appearances, and solidified himself as a regular for the club, and has done the same this season, by featuring in both league games of the season.
Michael Mancienne – Centre Back
With the youth of Joe Worrall at the heart of the Forest defence, it is important to blend that with an older, wiser, and more experienced centre-back partner, and that is exactly what Michael Mancienne provides in a back four or a back three.
The former Chelsea academy player signed for Forest back in 2014, from German side Hamburger SV, and has been an important member of the first team ever since.
The 29-year-old made 30 appearances in all competitions last year, and is the club’s captain, and will be a focal point of Forest’s season.
Matt Mills – Centre Back
Defender Matt Mills has been around a long time, starting his senior career way back in 2003.
The 31-year-old has been at ten clubs during his career, and signed for current club Nottingham Forest in 2015.
The defender made 30 appearances in all competitions last season, and will look to replicate that this season, and may find himself featuring heavily in a back three for Forest.
