Leeds United set to complete deal for experienced Juventus midfielder

Sky Bet Championship side Leeds United are close to completing a deal for two-time Italian Super Cup Champion Ouasim Bouy, according to reports from respected journalist Phil Hay.

The 24-year-old is a versatile player who has the ability to play as either a defensive midfielder or feature as a central defender.

Since signing for Juventus in 2012, Bouy has been dispatched on-loan to numerous clubs including Brescia Calcio, Hamburger SV, Panathinaikos, Dutch side PEC Zwolle twice and Palermo.

The young midfielder has appeared for his national side’s youth sides in recent years, making ten appearances for the under-17s and featuring 18 times for the under-19s, but has not featured for the senior team.

Signing at Juventus in 2012 as an 18-year-old, Buoy has found chances limited for the Italian giants. The former Ajax youngster has made one senior appearances for the fidanzata d’italias, spending much of his time on-loan away from the Juventus Stadium.

Buoy impressed heavily while playing for Serie B side Brescia Calcio, netting only once during 17 appearances but aiding the creation of goals five times. However his short spell with the Italian second-division side came to an end after rupturing his ACL in a friendly in February 2013.

Brescia’s interest in taking Buoy on-loan for a second time returned in the 2014 January transfer window, but instead Juventus chose to send the defensive midfielder to develop under fellow Dutchman Bert van Marwijk at German Bundesliga side Hamburger SV.

According to Phil Hay’s reports on Social Media, Leeds United are keen to sign Bouy but will send the the defensive midfielder out on-loan as they see him as an item of talent for the future rather than the Whites’ current state of play.
