Hull City show interest in Portuguese hotshot

Sky Bet Championship promotion hopefuls Hull City are thought to be weighing up a move for Boavista striker Renato Santos according to the Hull Daily Mail.

The 25-year-old Portuguese born frontman can play in a wide role or as an out-and-out striker and it is believed that Hull City scouts have been watching the player for some time.

Reports in Portugal have now indicated that The Tigers are set to make a move for Santos as the club’s new manager Leonid Slutsky looks to bring more creativity to the squad as they prepare to challenge for an immediate return to the top flight.

Santos started his career with Rio Ave where he made 10 first team appearances. The player was also loaned out to Moreirense, Aves and Tondela during his time learning his trade at the Estadio do Rio Ave.

In August 2015, Boavista signed the attacker on a three-year deal with Santos joining The Chequered Ones as a free agent following the expiry of his contract with Rio Ave. The player has gone on to make 57 appearances in two seasons with the club, scoring six goals.

Santos could leave Boavista on a free transfer next summer and the Portuguese club may look to cash in on the  player should Hull City submit a transfer offer.
