Potential Reading XI for the opening day

Nahki Wells – Striker

Following Huddersfield’s recent promotion to the Premier League, manager David Wagner has said the club will listen to offers for striker Nahki Wells, and the Reading Chronicle have confirmed that Reading are interested in bringing the Bermudan international to the Madejski for a reported £10 million.

The striker has an impressive record for Huddersfield, scoring 44 goals in 143 appearances, and has experience in the league after being with the Yorkshire side for 3 years.

He would be an impressive signing if it were to come to fruition but ‘The Royals’ should expect competition from a whole host of clubs following Wagner’s announcement.

Jón Daði Böðvarsson – Striker

With Reading’s top scorer from last season Yann Kermorgant out of the beginning of this season due to injury, new signing Jón Daði Böðvarsson looks set to play the opening few games.

He earned a move to England following Iceland’s successful Euro 2016 campaign and signed for Wolverhampton Wanderers.

He played 53 times in all competitions last season, but only managed 3 goals, however, the 25-year-old will be looking to prove the doubters wrong next season, and the Reading fans will be hoping his spell at Wolves was just a blip in his career.
