Grosicki, Everton plan swoop for relegated Hull winger

Everton plan swoop for relegated Hull winger

Premier League side Everton are planning an offer to Hull City for Polish winger Kamil Grosicki following the Tigers’ relegation to the Sky Bet Championship, according to the Daily Mirror.

Grosicki was an ever-present feature in the Tigers’ squad that got relegated last season, despite joining from French club Rennes in the January transfer window, appearing fifteen times and grabbing five assists during his 1,145 minutes of play in the Premier League.

But Ronald Koeman is now prepared to pay the same fee that Hull paid for the 29-year-old winger (£7.7million), with the Polish international keen to leave the KCOM Stadium following their relegation last term.

The former Legia Warsaw winger has already turned down a move to the Bundesliga with Freiburg because he is keen to remain in England’s top flight. Grosicki also has interest from other Premier League side’s including Newcastle, Watford and Crystal Palace, but a move to Koeman’s Merseyside club looks the most likely.

The Mirror’s report also states that the former Dutch international tried to sign Grosicki while managing Southampton, but a deal fell through.

Relegated Hull have already seen seven of their top players depart but the Tigers boss Leonid Slutsky is confident he can retain Grosicki’s services.

“It’s not been easy. It’s been like having two jobs every day. We are working very hard to bring in new players and each transfer is not easy,” he said.

“It is very important to have this message, we have closed the supermarket. I think nobody (else) will leave the club now. Sales are finished.

“The next step is new transfers. We are very close. We are speaking with at least five players but each situation is different.”
