Leeds United linked with sensational move for Valencia striker

Leeds United have been linked with a sensational move to sign Valencia’s Alvaro Negredo according to a report from Spanish publication Super Deporte.

Negredo has been a renowned striker across the world for many years though he is best known in this country for his spell with Manchester City. It was not the best spell for him as he struggled to break into the first team due to the world-class strikers they already had on the books, but he was able to show some of his ability while at the Etihad Stadium.

Most recently he has been contracted to Valencia though he has fallen out of first team favour there as well, ending up being loaned out to Middlesbrough last season. While he did well at Riverside, he wasn’t able to stop the club from being relegated from the Premier League last season and that made it unlikely that he would make his stay at the club permanent. They were however priced at 25/1 to sign him this summer despite this, though Besiktas and Wolves remain the front-runners according to the bookies.

But now expect Leeds United to be priced soon as they have been linked with a massive move for Negredo as well. The report comes from the fact Leeds’ new technical director Victor Orta did the same job at Middlesbrough last season and was a key factor in them signing Negredo on loan. And so he might just do it again for Leeds in a move that surely the rest of the Sky Bet Championship would notice.
