There’s NO deal in place for Leeds United to sign their main target

There is no deal between Leeds United and Swiss club Lugano for major Leeds United target Ezgjan Alioski, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post chief football writer, Phil Hay, on Twitter.

When a Leeds fan on twitter asked him if Alioski was flying into Leeds today to complete the deal, Phil Hay responded with, “To my knowledge, no. Still work to be done on the deal with Lugano.” But he did say, “Alioski is looking likely” even though some work on the deal does still need to be done. This will be music to Leeds United fans ears as this deal has been ongoing for quite a while.

Leeds United have been chasing Alioski for quite a while now and many Leeds fans are starting to get anxious about whether or not this will go through or not.

It appears this deal is a long long way off being complete and nothing has been complete yet. No agreement made, no personal terms agreed and no medical has been completed. Although Leeds United will want this to me done as soon as they can as they will want Alioski to go out with the rest of the squad on their pre-season training camp in Austria.

Another thing that will worry Leeds fans is that they aren’t the only club wanting the player.  Serie A club Atalanta, Swiss giants Basel and Hertha Berlin of the German Bundesliga are all interested in the player. Which means the longer this saga goes on, the more chance another club has of making an offer to challenge Leeds United’s offer. This deal is not going to be straightforward, but then again, it hasn’t been from the very start.
