Spaniard to sign for Leeds United on Monday – Phil Hay

Leeds United transfer target Samuel Saiz is scheduled to arrive in the city on Monday to complete a move to the club, so says Yorkshire Evening Post’s Phil Hay. The SD Huesca forward has been heavily linked with a move to Elland Road for a number of weeks now.

The 26-year-old, who was born in Madrid, is primed to become the latest summer recruit by Thomas Christiansen at the Sky Bet Championship club. Former Newcastle United midfielder Vurnon Anita yesterday agreed to make the move to the ambitious club, as Christiansen looks to build a side capable of challenging for promotion into the Premier League.

Saiz netted twelve goals last season, which included an incredibly run of scoring seven times in his final 12 appearances of the previous campaign. He is a forward that mostly prefers to play as an attacking midfielder in the number ten role.

The player, also known as ‘Samu’, may not be the only SD Huesca player to link up with Leeds this summer too. Alexander Gonzalez has been touted as possibly joining him in transferring to England, although earlier today we covered the story of how the player isn’t keen on moving to the UK at this moment in time.

Ezgjan Alioski is another player to be mentioned as another potential recruit by Leeds this summer as well. The Championship club however face significant competition for him in the form of Swiss champions FC Basel and also German Bundesliga outfit Hertha Berlin. It is certainly intriguing times at Leeds, and Samu looks set to join the Christiansen revolution in the coming days.
