Rangers complete deal for Norwich midfielder

Sky Bet Championship side Norwich City have sold midfielder Graham Dorrans to Rangers for an undisclosed fee.

The former West Bromwich Albion midfielder completed a medical today to become Pedro Caixinha’s ninth signing of the summer. The Scottish international follows in the footsteps of Bruno Alves, Ryan Jack, Dalcio, Fabio Cardoso, Daniel Candeias, Alfredo Morelos, Eduardo Herrera and Carlos Peña in a move to Ibrox.

The 30-year-old makes a welcomed return to Scottish football having previously made 77 appearances for Livingston and fifteen appearances during a loan-spell with Partick Thistle.

Dorrans made 67 appearances for the Canaries since signing from West Bromwich Albion in 2015, finding the net on nine occasions.

The Glasgow-born midfielder has twelve senior international caps. However the Scotland international was also a part of the under-19 side that reached the UEFA under-19 Championships final in 2006, with Dorrans scoring in the 2-1 final defeat to Spain.

Speaking to Rangers TV after signing a three-year deal at Ibrox, the former Livingston and Partick Thistle midfielder said: “It feels incredible. It has been a long couple of weeks but to finally get it over the line is an incredible feeling and I just can’t wait to get the boots on and get started.

“I don’t think there is ever a wrong time to come to a football club like this. The size of this football club is incredible – I’ve obviously had great times down in England, especially at West Brom, but growing up, I knew I always wanted to come to this football club and when the chance came around I jumped at it.”
