Leeds United goalkeeper set for loan away from Elland Road

Leeds United have been very busy during the off-season so far. New owner Andrea Radrizzani is keen to show the passionate fans that he will treat the club as a football club rather than a business, and has bought back Elland Road, assigned a supporters advisory board, and already signed 2 players, with Mateusz Klich and Felix Wiedwald arriving at Elland Road.

The arrival of German shot stopper Wiedwald from Bundesliga side Werder Bremen has, however, shaken up things in the goalkeeping department at Leeds, with Rob Green, Marco Silvestri and Bailey-Peacock-Farrell all still on the books in Yorkshire.

Rob Green is likely to stay and fight for his number 1 spot with Wiedwald, Silvestri will almost certainly return to his hometown of Italy, which leaves 20 year-old youngster Bailey Peacock Farrell in limbo.

The youngster has only made 1 senior appearance for Leeds, but has impressed massively when he has played in the youth teams, but is now subject of interest of Oldham Athletic, who want to bring him to Boundary Park in a loan deal this season according to Yorkshire Evening Post and resident Leeds journalist Phil Hay.

The 20 year-old has just a year left on his contract, but Leeds are said to be keen to extend that before sending him elsewhere to secure his services for the future.

If a loan move does come to fruition it could hugely improve Farrell’s development as a player, and will help him get to grips with playing week-in week-out, which he will no doubt do for Leeds in the future.
