Leeds United and Derby County in chase to sign Stevenage midfielder

Leeds United and Derby County are in a chase to sign Stevenage’s Ben Kennedy according to a report from HITC Sport.

The 20-year-old midfielder came through the Stevenage academy and while the club hasn’t been able to do much in recent years, he has impressed ever since he made his debut back in January 2015. But now with him believed to have a lot of potential and looks likely to outgrow his current club in the next few years, several teams from higher up the ladder are starting to become interested.

And two of the biggest clubs in the Sky Bet Championship are considering a move for Kennedy with both Derby and Leeds taking a close look at the player. Whether he would be able to break into their first team at the moment is one question, but both clubs believe he would be a valuable player to have around and could become a key player in the next few players if he continues to improve as he has done in the last few years.

But while Derby and Leeds competing to sign Kennedy is already testament to the talent he has shown since breaking through, that might not just be it. This report goes on to say that there are a lot of other Championship teams that are interested in signing the Northern Ireland youth international and that they may soon become known if they enter the race to sign him. But for now, it is going to be Leeds and Derby duking it out for his signature.
