Leeds United pull out of race for Spanish striker – 3 alternative options

Earlier today, the72 reported that Leeds United’s interest in Porto striker Adrian Lopez had disappeared, after the front man demanded wages that the Whites were unwilling to pay.

Lopez would have been an excellent coup for the Yorkshire club, but he was demanding wages exceeding £25,000, and many Leeds United fans would not have been happy to see this much money go to a player who is not proven as of yet.

But as interest in Adrian Lopez dies down, who else could Leeds United be looking at?

Of course, they have been linked with moves for Spanish striker Sami Saiz and Macedonian front man Ezgjan Alioski in recent days, but there are certainly other options out there.

We take a look at three potential strikers, who could be great at Elland Road:

Fraiser Campbell – Fraiser Campbell is currently a Crystal Palace player, but is not expected to be for much longer. Frank de Boer has just taken over at Selhurst Park, and is expected to have a mass clear-out at the club. Campbell is expected to leave, and it is unknown whether he will attract interest from any Premier League clubs. Leeds United have shown an interest in the striker before, trying to sign him back in January 2016. Although he has not had the best last few years, Campbell is a proven goal scorer, who could more than do a job in the white of Leeds United.
