Cheltenham Town re-sign Wolves goalkeeper on loan

Cheltenham Town have re-signed Jon Flatt on loan from Wolves until the end of the season as confirmed by the club website.

Flatt is already familiar with the Robins having had a loan spell with the club towards the end of the 2015/16 season. He would make ten appearances at the tail end of the year and would play a crucial part as Cheltenham claimed the Vanarama National title and finally got promoted back to Sky Bet League Two.

Now though he is back at Cheltenham and will be hoping to push them further up the League Two table after they re-established themselves in the division last year with a 21st placed finish, four points above the relegation zone. Flatt himself will be hoping to make himself the number one during this spell and to use this experience to make himself a better player and give himself a chance of making it into the Wolves first team when he returns next year.

Following the completion of the deal, Flatt said: “I’m absolutely delighted to be back. Everybody knows what it meant to me to be here last time and the opportunity to come back was a no brainer.

“I’ve had many conversations with the Gaffer, he’s ambitious and it’s nice to feel wanted. When i was here last time I made lots of friends and have kept in touch with them over the last year. They became friends for life and hopefully we, and the new players who have joined since then, can progress up the league together.

“The manager says he’s got confidence in me and now it’s up to me to do my talking on the pitch. I’ve had some hard times over the last year but I’m glad now that I’m here and I can’t wait to show the fans what I can do.

“We’ve seen recently how good this club can be on a roll with the fans behind us. If we can all unite again I’m feeling very good about the season ahead.”
